Is the Premier League sleepwalking into mediocrity.

With Hazard’s imminent departure from Chelsea has the Premier League lost its last genuine superstar?

Aguero and Silva aren’t getting any younger and whilst Salah has been a revolution for Liverpool, I think the marketing men will be having to work overtime trying to flog a flailing product.

It’s been a saving grace that Liverpool and Man City have been able to go at it, like for like, because the rest of the division is bang fucking average.

Let's be honest. Spurs should have been out at league stage. They got through by sheer luck. And had it not been for the most ridiculous game at Man City and an off-side VAR that was onside they would also be out. And had it not been for the most shameful and utterly mind numbingly disgraceful roll over by Ajax in that second half they would be out. Their manager and players like rabbits in headlights when all Poch did was say to his players by-pass midfield and clip it into Lorente. If Ajax and their manager can't adjust to that then they should be fucking ashamed of themselves.

Barcelona's performance at Anfield was equally as shameful. Liverpool played well on the night but Barca were so poor it was hard to fathom. Messi walking around like a robot with no battery charge. A poor, poor captains performance lacking fight, passion and a will to win. Poor defending and an utterly disgusting roll over.

Both Spurs and Liverpool should not be there and Ajaz and Barca should hang their heads in shame for contributing to the worst final that could possibly be imaginable.

All these media mob shouting that English football rules the world are fucking bananas. This has been a freak CL and if anyone tells me it means Spurs and Liverpool are the best teams in Europe I will laugh and spit at their feet.

Disgraceful. And I am just glad I will be on holiday when this shit occurs. I will get pissed in the day and tuck myself up in bed early evening so I don't have to encounter any of it or the fucking spastic cunts that will be cheering them on.

As i say and admit. Im only piping up over this because it's Tottenham.

Ironically, the only way we will probably ever win the competition will be the same way as Tottenham are going about it.

Of course, on any given day anyone can beat anyone. Even though this has happened, many times this season, us lesser teams are still not breaking into the top 4.

It's just wrong that if Tottenham (just like Liverpool did in 2005 finishing 5th) win the Champions League, they will be spoken about in the same breath as previous sides who won the European Cup having to qualify as Champions.

To be fair to Tottenham, its not their fault. Its FIFA's for setting the competition up this way.

Are you saying that the fact that Spurs, Man U, Chelsea & Arsenal have struggled in the last few weeks against teams outside the big 6 means that the gap between them and those teams is increasing?
Hmmm

What I have seen in particularly in a couple of games recently (Newc v Liv, Man C v Leic) is that these lesser teams can give even the best teams a game.
Meanwhile Leic beat Arsenal , Bournemouth beat Spurs etc
Obviously there is a gap but in the PL you can’t take any game for granted.

Even as we speak sunken eyed journos and young guardian hacks who have never had sex are furiously stabbing out copy about how this week of weeks has ushered in and is the harbinger of a new age of english footballing dominance.

Heavily referencing the irony that as we try to decamp from the political structures of the wilting european dream, our marauding footballers wreak havoc among the camps of the old european elite.

Oh the juicy irony, the hyperbole, the conviction they hold that we can only appreciate the sporting spectacle if they animate it for us with their spoutings and back page mash liquor.

Given the recent events and lately seen football match results - Montos thread is hereby announced as the 'wrongest - with hindsight - sentiment / thread ever posted to WHO'.

Congratulations, that is some fucking achievement bruv - such are the glistening glaciers and techtonic plates of utter bollocks posted on here over the years.

One of my other favourites was Justin R's pronouncements in the late 2000's that the allied invasion forces would 'perish amid the crags of the Hindu Kush' - or words to that effect.
